PROject Science has been founded by Roberto Verganti and Adriano De Maio, with a vision to provide managers who want to “innovate the way they innovate” the most advanced and proven business methods.
This vision has led to the creation of a team of “consultants” who were also “researchers”. A team who could create new unique proprietary methods that could really make a difference for their clients. Methods that were novel but also tested and proven to be robust.
Soon other distinguished experts, such as Tommaso Buganza, Gabriele Colombo, Alessandro De Maio, Claudio Dell’Era, Camilla Fecchio, Francois Jegou, Paolo Landoni, Claudio Roveda, Mario Salerno who had practiced both consultancy and research in innovation, have shared the vision and joined the team, providing complementary knowledge and perspectives.
Today, PROject Science has a team of consultants and researchers with a unique combination of practical experience in several industries and robust methodological and analytical skills provided by academic research.
Our focus on innovation processes, and our continuous research and testing for novel methods, has made our team extremely experienced and unique.

Roberto Verganti
Roberto Verganti, is Professor of Management of Innovation at Politecnico di Milano, where he teaches in the School of Management and the School of Design, and where he directs MaDe In Lab, the laboratory for executive education on MAnagement of DEsign and INnovation. He is also a member of the board of the EIASM (the European Institute of Advanced Studies in Management), Visiting Professor of Design Management at the Copenhagen Business School, Adjunct Professor of Design Innovation Management at the University of Vaasa in Finland, Associate Editor for the European Management Review, member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Product Innovation Management and of the Advisory Board of the Design Management Institute in Boston.
Roberto Verganti has been in 2000-2004 the Founder and first Director of the School of Doctoral Programs of Politecnico di Milano (one of the largest in Europe) and in 2004-2007 the founder and first Director ot the Alta Scuola Politecnica, the school for talented students on multidisciplinary innovation of Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino. He has been visiting the Harvard Business School in 1997/1998 and in 2007/2008.
Through more than twenty years of research, Roberto Verganti has investigated the challenges and processes of strategic innovation in more than 100 companies, ranging from dominant players such as Microsoft and Vodafone, to small and dynamic firms such as Alessi and Nintendo. His studies have appeared in a number of scholarly and applied journals including Management Science and the Harvard Business Review. His research on management of design in Italy has been awarded the Compasso d'Oro (the most prestigious design award in Italy).
Roberto Verganti has served as an advisor to senior managers at a wide variety of large and small firms. He is also an advisor of the innovation marketplaces www.Innocrowding.com and www.ideaconnection.com and expert in Innovation and R&D for Keystone Strategy, consulting firm founded by Marco Iansiti of the Harvard Business School.

Adriano De Maio
Adriano De Maio is Professor of Project Management at Politecnico di Milano, of which he has been the President and Chancellor from 1994 through 2002. He is also the chairman of IReR, the Regional Institute for Research of the Lombardy Region.
Adriano De Maio has been the Chairman of the TIME association (Top Industrial Managers for Europe), a member of the Board of Directors of the Ecole Centrale Paris, the Chancellor of the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, the Commissioner of the Italian National Council of Research- CNR, and the Representative of the Governor for Research, Innovation and Higher Education in the Government of the Lombardy Region.
Adriano De Maio is a leading expert in innovation strategy, innovation management and research policy. Through his pioneering research, which has been disseminated through his seminal books, he has build the field of Innovation Management and Project Management in Italy.
Adriano De Maio has more than 4 decades of experience advising executives and firms in a broad variety of industries. Before founding PROject Science he has been the founder of two consulting firms: RSO (Action Research Institute) in the 70s and MAIN S.r.l. in the 80s, of which he was also chairman. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Indesit Company, Saes Getters, Telecom Italia Media, TxT e-solutions. [top]
